I personally remember when the Grand Wailea went on to the water line that for 3 days, everybody that lived past the hotel could not take a shower or get any water out of their faucets until the pipes at the hotel were filled. Try to imagine how many showers the guests of this Hotel take every day. Why does the Council keep issuing permits for large wealthy developers to build more large expensive homes which will have to water their expensive grounds? A visit to any County or State Park is enough to depress you when you see water running through the parking lots or onto the sand because the faucets on the showers are all broken or a visitor just forgot to turn it off. Sometime these broken faucets run or weeks before being fixed. I have even called the County to report the faucets broken and returned days later only to see that it was still not fixed. Most of us have to drink bottled water now which besides being heavy to carry home is expensive. It will be even more expensive when there is not enough to go around. What happens when (and in some cases I am already seeing this) the bottled water we drink is not on the shelves anymore. Bottled water comes in plastic bottle which we all know is also a problem. We have had many hearings on the water shortage but no action! |
